5 ways to wear a neckerchief
today's topic: neckerchiefs, ascots, bandanas, whatever you want to call them. they have finally made a come back and i'll be the first to conform. there are so many ways to wear them and to show you just how classy they really are, i provided vintage inspiration from grace kelly, audrey hepburn, and elizabeth taylor. could we get classier than that?
where to find neckerchiefs: you can find them pretty much anywhere since they're so in style now but i'm going to tell you my favorite places to find them because they're cheap!
1. estate sales
estate sales are great for so many reasons but i can usually find a couple neck scarfs that others often overlook.
2. flea markets
you can usually find good deals at flea markets if you really look. they can sometimes be pretty pricey but flea markets are a good place to practice your bargaining.
3. vintage fairs
pretty much any vintage vendor is going to have scarfs of all size, variety and color. this is probably the most expensive option but you can find some beautiful pieces that are probably worth the splurge.
below are 5 different ways to fashion your neckerchiefs. there are definitely so many other ways to wear them as well so try experimenting with it. also, i gave each style a peppy name so, enjoy!
1. the flight attendant
i chose this name because when i first started wearing neckerchiefs everyone told me i looked like a flight attendant. to be honest, it was a little annoying at first because i didn't want to look like i was wearing a costume, but now i accept it as a compliment! flight attendants are classy! i love this style because it is pretty and classic and so easy to do while looking complicated at the same time.
2. the bandana
here we have a little western inspired knot that is probably the easiest thing to pull off. wear it with a cute summer dress or a rustic button up.
3. the choker
a simple yet elegant way to add some color and accessory to your outfit. i could see audrey hepburn rocking this look which is probably safe to say that you should rock it too.
4. the girl scout
we all love the cookies so why not be inspired by the uniforms as well? this is such a simple and classic style that looks great with any outfit.
5. the parisian
imagine yourself walking down the streets of paris heading to a little cafe for breakfast. this is what i would wear! this is a good look for longer scarfs and looks so elegant with a light material so it flows in the wind where ever you are walking.
